Braids are the most practical thing you can do to your hair on a beach holiday — and at Harmony Maison Salon they are one of our specialities. We are inside the InterContinental Fujairah Resort on Al Aqah Beach, and we braid for guests of every hotel along this stretch of coast.

What we offer
Rasta braids, short hair — AED 150
For hair to around shoulder length. The quickest option and a good first try if you have never had braids.
Rasta braids, long hair — AED 250
For hair past the shoulders. More sections, more time, and the style holds beautifully.
Rasta with colour — AED 800
Coloured strands braided in alongside your own hair. This is the statement version — bold, long-lasting, and completely reversible, because the colour is in the added strands and not in your hair.
How long it takes
Short hair takes roughly one to two hours. Long hair and the coloured version take longer — for Rasta with Colour allow a good part of the afternoon. Bring something to read or watch. It is worth booking ahead so we can set the time aside properly.
How long braids last
Usually one to three weeks, depending on your hair type and how much you swim. For a one or two week holiday they will comfortably see you through. Rinse with fresh water after the sea, and let them dry naturally.
For children too
For a beach holiday, braids are genuinely practical for children too — hair stays tidy from breakfast to bedtime. Please book ahead so we can allow enough time.
Taking them out
Braids are undone, not cut. Come back to us before you travel home if you would like them removed properly, or take them out yourself with patience and plenty of conditioner.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be a hotel guest at the InterContinental?
No. Guests of Le Méridien, Fairmont, Miramar, Rotana, Royal M, Mirage, Sandy Beach, Address and every other resort on Al Aqah Beach are equally welcome — as are residents of Dibba Al Fujairah.
Will braiding damage my hair?
Not when done at the right tension, which is what we are careful about. Tell us immediately if anything feels too tight.
Can I swim with braids?
Yes — that is rather the point. Rinse with fresh water afterwards.
What hair length do I need?
Roughly chin length and longer works well. If you are unsure, send us a photo on WhatsApp and we will tell you honestly.
Can I wash my hair with braids in?
Yes, gently, focusing on the scalp. Let them dry fully afterwards.
